Built in the 1830's as Port Dover's first department store called The Fair. It was originally on the corner of Main Street and Market Street. Built to last the test of time with a 10 x 10 inch post and beam frame and 3 x 10 inch floor joists. ​ ​What was the front entrance to the store is now the side of the house. In 1921 the building was bought by the Port Dover pharmacist, Joseph Tibbit and  dragged by horses (with rolling logs underneath) to it's current location to be remodeled into a family home.
